Interview with Ramcharan Chaudhari about Deadly clashes in Kailali

Ramcharan Chaudhari (Tharu) is a Nepalese politician, belonging to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election he was elected from the Bardiya-4 constituency, winning 24444 votes.

At least eight police officers have been killed in western Nepal in clashes during demonstrations over a proposed new constitution, officials say. There were reports that three protesters and a child were also killed in Kailali district on Monday. Government Administrator Raj Kumar Shrestha said thousands of protesters attacked with spears, knives and stones police officers trying to enforce a curfew.The government has decided to deploy Nepal Army (NA) in conflict-affected areas in different parts the country. Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam informed the parliament that the meeting of security council decided to mobilize NA in Tikapur of Kailali, Malangawa of Sarlahi and Gaur of Rautahat. Minister Gautam said that the council concluded that Nepal Police & Armed Police Force alone can't control and army needed to be mobilized.
