A meeting of the 20-party alliance led by UCPN (Maoist) today decided to assign the Chairperson of the Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) Dr Baburam Bhattarai to break the deadlock prevailing in the CPDCC. According to the Constituent Assembly (CA) member Laxmanlal Karna, the meeting held in the office of UCPN (Maoist)’s Legislature-Parliament Board, agreed to allow the Chairperson of the CPDCC to act on to further the submission process of the proposal that the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) brought and presented in the CPDCC, in the Constituent Assembly.Bhattarai said the issue of forming a new consensus government should not affect the constitution writing process. UML leaders had held talks with Madhes-based political parties on Monday and asked them to join the consensus government.
