Central member of Nepali Congress Dr. Narayan Khadka was born on March 20, 1949 in Bhojpur. His father is Chitra Bahadur Khadka and mother is Dharma KumariKhadka. He joined politics while he was a student in 1967 and did his Ph.D. in Economics from Pune, India. Having held the position of vice-chairman of National Planning Commission, Dr. Khadka served as advisor to NC leader late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai during the latter's premiership. His articles on current affairs frequently appear in various papers. He is contesting the CA Election 2013 from Udaypur-1, the constituency that elected him in the CA Election 2008. He received 14,468 votes, defeating his closest rival RajanKirati (UCPN-Maoist) who took 13,236 votes. CPN-UML's Ashok Kumar Rai came third with 9,810 votes. He was a member of the National Interest Preservation Committee in the CA. He was also a member of the NC's committee for drafting party manifesto for the CA Election 2013.
