Hundreds of taxi drivers protested in Kathmandu on Wednesday demanding the government scrap its decision to add new delux taxi in the Valley. Around 1,000 taxi gathered in Khula Manch to press for their demands. The protest ers were also against the government decision to discontinue the use of taxi s more than 20 years old. Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel also attended the protest programme to express his party’s solidarity with the protest ers. Taxi entrepreneurs suspect foul play on part of some government ministers and top bureaucrats of taking the decision which favours some vehicle importers to the detriment of taxi drivers.
