Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, also known as Chhota Rajan or "Little Rajan", is accused of multiple murders.On his arrival in Delhi on Friday morning, he was taken to the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the country's federal policing agency. "He has been handed over to the CBI," Mumbai deputy commissioner of police Dhananjay Kulkarni, who was one of the officers on the flight with Nikalje, told news agency AFP. After being on the run for the past 27 years, underworld don Chhota Rajan was brought to New Delhi early morning from Indonesia by a joint team headed by CBI officials for facing trial in various criminal cases registered against him in Delhi and Mumbai.

A night-long wait to get a glimpse of underworld don Chhota Rajan ended after he landed at the Air Force Station in Palam in a special chartered plane in the wee hours of Friday. Rajan, who was arrested in Bali, Indonesia on October 25, was escorted by officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai police and the Delhi police Special Cell to the CBI headquarters.
