Nepal's UCPN-Maoist leader Dinanath Sharma alleged that the "unofficial blockade" imposed by India is creating a humanitarian crisis in the country in the wake of the ongoing political unrest due to the adoption of the new Constitution.
Dinanath Sharma reminded that the Madhesi people are Nepali people and termed India's unnecessary concern as 'meaningless'. "The problems of the Madhes, the southern plains of Nepal, is our internal matter and we are capable of resolving it," he pointed out.
He said there was no ground for India to show concern to the problems of the Madhesi people. He added that the party leadership was in constant contact with the Madhes-centric leaders while stating they were positive on seeking a resolution through dialogue and negotiations.
Spokesperson Sharma further slammed the Indian government of creating a humanitarian crisis by obstructing supplies which Nepal had been purchasing and not receiving as alms. He accused the India government of not even adhering to simple rules of war by obstructing the supply of medicine, fuel and reading materials.
