A familiar face in Nepali politics, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani was born to Bed Prasad and Narayani Lohani in 1944. With a three decade long experience in politics, Dr. Lohani is a noted economist, with Phd in Economics from University of California. He served as a Minister of Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Labor & Transportation, and Minister of Housing & Physical Planning in governments formed during the Panchayat era and in governments formed after the restoration of multi-party democracy. Dr. Lohani has also published papers in prestigious journals like the University of Chicago journal of political Economy Representing Rastriya Prajatantra Party, he is going to contest from Nuwakot in the upcoming CA election. He became CA member of 2008, via proportional representation electoral system through Rastriya Jana Shakti Party. He was with 2008 CA’s Constitutional Committee, Public Account Committee and Special Security Committee.
