Posted by Anup Baral January 18, 2016 :
Hundreds of people observed the annual bullfighting match in Betrawati, a village situated at the border of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on the occasion of Maghe Sakranti on Friday. A similar event was also organised in Taruka-5.This year, eight pairs of bulls clashed in Betrawati. Speaking at the gathering, Suroj Lawati, chairperson of the Gosainkunda Youth Club, said they have been organising the event to preserve their centuries-old culture. “The festival is believed to have been initiated to celebrate the treaty reached between Nepal and Tibet following a war two centuries ago,” he said.
