Posted by Anup Baral February 1, 2016:
Nepal’s agitating Madhesis today vandalised the house of a senior leader of main opposition Nepali Congress and lawmaker. Cadres of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) attacked the house of Bimalendra Nidhi – a Madhesi himself – and torched a motorcycle parked in the premises, according to party sources. The fire also destroyed Nidhi’s parking zone roofed with zinc sheets. Other infrastructures and belongings were saved as police doused the fire after some minutes. Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal’s Dhanusha district chairman Shesh Narayan Yadav said the cadres resorted to vandalism as the Front had decided to block lawmakers who had signed in the Constitution from entering the district. Nidhi’s sister-in-law Kiran sustained several minor injuries in the attack.
