8.2 magnitude earthquake hit Chile this morning at a depth of just 10 kilometres and was centred 86 kilometres north-west of Iquique in northern Chile. Five people have died and about 300 prisoners escaped from the northern port city . Tens of thousands of people were evacuated in affected areas, and a state of emergency has been declared.
