Nepali Congress Vice-president of Ram Chandra Poudel is heading to India on a five-day visit beginning on Monday. At a time when the Nepali Congress is gearing up for its 13th General Convention, Poudel’s trip to the southern neighbour has raised a few eyebrows within his party. He is claiming to lead the party through the upcoming convention. According to his aide, he will be visiting Haridwar, a popular Hindu pilgrimage near the Indian capital, before meeting senior Cabinet ministers of the Indian government in New Delhi. During his two-day stay in Haridwar, Poudel will meet Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, among others.
