President Ram Baran Yadav suggests top leaders to bring disgruntled parties

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has suggested the top leaders of four major political parties that it would be better if the preliminary draft of the new constitution was taken to the people after the naming and delineating the federal provinces.

RAMDuring the meeting with the top leaders at Sheetal Niwas today, President Yadav suggested the political parties to bring the parties, who have been venting their dissatisfaction in constitution writing, into consensus. Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, said that the President congratulated and thanked the political parties for the 16-point pact signed among four major political parties and for taking the draft before the people for feedback. President Yadav suggested the top leaders to address the demands of the dissatisfied parties after making some amendment to the draft to bring them to consensus, added Gachchhadar. The President also enquired about how the demands of the Madhes-based parties could be addressed regarding the issue of citizenship. Chairman Gachchhadar said, “We chairmen of four political parties assured President Yadav that the new constitution will be promulgated on time with maximum consensus.” The leaders assured the President that they would move ahead by properly addressing the dissatisfaction and feedbacks of people regarding this, added Gachchhadar. Lauding the unity shown by all political parties to face disaster after the ‘Gorkha’ earthquake, President Yadav urged them to show such unity in therehabilitation and new construction task. Present on the occasion were Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and MJF (Loktantrik ) Chairman Gachchhadar.
