5 protesters killed in Mahottari and Saptari Clash

At least four persons were killed and over 1o injured in Jaleshwar of Mahottari during violent protests on Wednesday. Police had resorted to firing after a mob tried to attack the official resident of district judge, according to an official at the District Administration Office, Mahottari. Meanwhile, the DAO has clamped an indefinite curfew in Jaleshwar.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli claimed there were several options left for addressing the concerns of the agitating Madhesi and Tharu communities from within the CA. He said so even as the deadline to register amendment proposal for changes in the contents of draft constitution bill expired on Saturday and the CA has already begun clause-wise deliberations on the proposed amendments.
