More then two months Blockade Hurts Nepal Economy

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has decided to distribute petrol to private vehicles for three days starting Thursday. The fuel will be distributed to private bikes based on lot system through 50 petrol pumps on a given day. However, no government vehicles would be given fuel as part of the distribution plan. This is the second time the government decided to distribute petrol to private vehicles after Indian imposed unofficial blockade against Nepal since September 23.

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) was established in January 1970 by the Government of Nepal as a state-owned trading company to deal with the import, transportation, storage and distribution of various petroleum products in the country. NOC, headquartered in Kathmandu, has Five Regional Offices and also Branch Offices, Fuel Depots and Aviation Fuel Depots with total storage capacity of 71,622 Kilolitres (KL).
