The constitution is all-encompassing document, he said, pointing at the government’s failure to reach out the constitutional provisions to the people at the grassroots. Leader Thapa also drew the government’s attention to protect the lives of innocent Nepali people by bringing the agitating parties to consensus. He noted that the current situation has halted the educational learning of the students – the helmsmen of future. He blamed the government for promoting black-marketing resulted from the Indian blockade and Terai unrest instead of taking measures to stop it. Though India has deprived Nepal’s right to trade transit sans any reason, the Nepali people would face the problem without loosing own stance and confidence, he asserted. NC Kathmandu President Bhimsen Das Pradhan said that the agitation launched by some of the parties in Terai has moved the country to regression. “The government should put its efforts seriously to address people’s demands. The Terai agitation has flared up with the government ignoring the agenda and busy expanding ministries”, he noted. Also speaking on the occasion, NC lawmaker duo Rajya Laxmi Shrestha and Dhyan Govinda Ranjit suggested the government to come up with a concrete proposal to address the recent problems of the country and warned to launch pressure-creating events across the country. The rally went through New Road, Martyr’s Gate, Old Bus Park before it converged into a corner meet at Shanti Batika in the capital. RSS
