Upendra Yadav was born on January 8, 1961. He holds a Master's Degree from Science Faculty and also a Bachelor's Degree from Law Faculty. He is contesting from Sunsari-5 and Morang-5 in the CA Election 2013 representing Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum, Nepal. He joined politics during his student life but came into party politics in 1976. He went underground since 1976 till 1979 and was in exile till 1984. He was again in exile from 1986 till 1988. In the CA Election 2008, Yadav was elected from Sunsari-5 and Morang-5. In Sunsari, he had defeated NC leader Sujata Koirala.He was associated with CPN-UML for some time but later came in touch with the then CPN (Maoist). He formed Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum as an NGO to work for the rights of Madhesi people and Madhes.
