Nepal, Australia to play Phil Hughes tribute match

Nepal is playing against Australia, a 63 overs friendly game on April 11 in Tribhuvan University Stadium in Kathmandu. The 63-over match will be played as a Tribute Match as a tribute to late Australian cricketer Phil Hughes, who sustained a fatal injury on his head during a Sheffield Shield game on November 25, 2014, states the press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday.

The match was organized at the initiative of the CAN, which approached Cricket Australia (CA) expressing desire to pay tribute to Hughes. Both the CA and Hughes family nodded to the proposal. All the proceeds from the Tribute Match Phillip’s bats, a piece of his clothing and the Cricket Australia flag and we will take these and place them at the top of Mt Everest The visiting Australian cricketers will combine with Nepal national team playing a 31.3-over-a-side game making it 63 overs in total.
