President Obama has pledges help for earthquake-stricken Nepal. "The president pledged that the United States will do all that it can to help the people of Nepal in their time of need," said a White House statement.
Obama conveyed the nation's condolences over the earthquake that killed more than 8,500 people and wreaked inestimable destruction. The two leaders "discussed the ongoing efforts by U.S. civilian and military personnel to assist the Government of Nepal and international organizations in the disaster response efforts, including with rescue and logistics support," the White House said.
