When the Constituent Assembly meeting started, some lawmakers objected to the ongoing process of constitution drafting despite the Supreme Court’s stay order against the 16-point agreement.Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya has said there was no doubt the new constitution would ensure all people’s rights.
Addressing the Forest Festival organized jointly by the forest offices of the Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Kapilbastu and Palpa districts at Shankarnagar of Rupandehi district today, he said the new constitution would be promulgated on the basis of pluralism and it would ensure the rights of all the communities, linguistic groups, cultures and ethnicities. “There is no doubt that the nation would have a state structure based on the federalism,” he said. The Minister said the relation of all the communities, religions and cultures is linked with the land and forest, urging all to work with unity for the conservation of forest. Similarly, lawmaker and former minister Bal Krishna Khand said the level of the underground water has been decreasing and the sources of water have been drying up so that it was necessary to work for the conservation of forests in the country. The government has declared 2071 BS-2080 BS as the forest decade. Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry Shankar Prasad Adhikari said that they would take action against the forest encroachers and destroyers. On the occasion, locals urged to approve local zoo run at Shankarnagar as the regional level zoo.
