The government is planning to sack those serving civil servants who have acquired green cards or permanent residency (PR) papers in foreign countries. Preparations to this effect are being made after the Ministry of General Administration (MOGA) received several complaints about many serving bureaucrats holding dual nationality, and reports in the media. According to government estimates, around 1,100 civil servants have obtained either green cards or PR papers and are living in various countries without quitting their government jobs.
