Bhaktapur Flood drowns temporary settlements of quake survivors

Flood water has entered settlements in Chymasingh, Jagati, Maheswori, Srijananagar, Sallaghari and along the banks of Hanumanti River, submerging streets and water rushing into the buildings. According to News source setopati, Temporary settlements of the earthquake survivors were especially affected as the tents were completely drowned in the water, forcing them to find shelter in safe places. Bhaktapur, literally translates to Place of devotees. Also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa, it is an ancient Newar city in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, about 8 miles from the capital city, Kathmandu.
