The UCPN (Maoist) has urged the government to resolve the problem seen in Tikapur of Kailali district by political means. The UCPN (Maoist) Standing Committee meeting held at the residence of the party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Lazimpat, drew the attention of the government not to use force but to take political initiatives to resolve the problem. Drawing a conclusion to the need of taking the constitution writing process forward without stopping it under any pretext, the party stressed the need of resolving the problem on the basis of political wisdom and understanding, said party Spokesperson, Dinanath Sharma. The UCPN (Maoist) demanded to carry out investigation and to take action against the guilty, drawing a conclusion that there might be infiltration in the demonstration organised in Kailali demanding Tharuwan province. The meeting also concluded that the problem would not be resolved only after the decision of mobilizing the army. It also came to the conclusion that the dissatisfaction over the issue of delineation of federal states should be addressed immediately. Another leader Devendra Poudel said that the party laid emphasis that all sides should take initiatives to take the peace process to the conclusion.
