At least 13 protestors were injured in Jumla when police opened fire to take the situation under control on Sunday. Locals in Jumla have been staging protests demanding autonomous Karnali province for the last eight days. Three of the injured -- Hari Kunwar of Tamti-1, Padam Prasad Timilsina of Chandnath-4 and Santosh Budhthapa of Chandnath-3 --are said to be in critical condition. Kunwar received a bullet in his neck while Timilsina and Budhthapa were shot in their abdomen. The injured have been airlifted to Nepalgunj for treatment. republic
