Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Nepal) Kamal Thapa has strongly opposed the sidelining of discussion on monarchy in the constitution drafting process. Stating that the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) Krishna Prasad Sitaula ruled out any discussion on the issue of monarchy, Thapa questioned who gave such an authority to the chairman. Thapa was addressing the CA on the first day of the deliberation on the Bill of the new constitution. He alleged the top parties of transforming the CA into something akin to Rana-era court and taking all decisions by discarding other sides.
