Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to newly-elected Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli and congratulated him for his victory. Modi called Nepal’s newly elected Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and congratulated him after he is elected as Nepal's new prime minister.
During their conversation, Modi invited his new Nepali counterpart to visit India, according to the official Twitter account of Office of the Prime Minister of India.s Modi congratulated Oli, the newly-elected prime minister shared about the hardships Nepali people have been facing due to acute shortage of fuel and other essentials as a result of "undeclared" blockade imposed by India along the Nepal-India border. "As the newly-elected prime minister informed the Indian counterpart about the crisis, Modi asked him to write to him about the matter and said that he would take initiatives to resolve the problem," CPN-UML lawmaker Rajan Bhattarai, who is close to Oli, told Republica.
