In a unilateral move, India has shut Belahiya and Rupaidiha customs in Rupandehi and Banke districts, respectively. Citing security concerns, the Indian side shut the trade points though the agitating United Democratic Madheshi Front is not organising any protest there. PN Singh, B Company commander of the Seema Sashastra Bal’s seventh battalion, said they shut Rupaidhia from 10.55 am in response to orders from high above. He informed the customs will remain shut for two days — Monday and Tuesday.
