Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet today briefed the Legislature-Parliament that police have arrested 15 persons to investigate into alleged mistreatment to President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Janakpur on December 16. Of them, three people were taken action under the Public Offences Act and another one under the Protection of Ancient Monument Act, according to Basnet. Condemning the incident, the government has formed a probe committee led by the joint secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs in this connection, Minister Basnet added. The leader further said that the government was working to sort out the Tarai issues through talks and was effortful to ease the supplies. He added that the government was preparing to remove the obstructions seen along various highways. Minister Basnet had presented the government’s views amidst sloganeering and obstruction by the Tarai-centric parties’ lawmakers in the Parliament.
