Maggie Doyne, 28, has returned to Nepal for the first time after being named the CNN Hero of the Year 2015. She pledged to use the purse of US$ 100,000 which she won in New York to develop a new sustainable and earthquake-resistant campus in Surkhet, which is believed to serve as a model for other schools in the region and around the world. Speaking at a press conference in New Baneshwar on Wednesday, Maggie dedicated the prestigious award to all the Nepali people and pledged her further support and commitment for the welfare of impoverished, orphaned and at-risk children in Nepal.
