Dhuwa (smoke) is a short telefilm about the air pollution resulting from open fires. It presents the problems and solutions associated with air pollution in a simple and catchy way that can be easily understood by the general public. It mixes comedy with informative messages about atmospheric issues, and cleverly depicts the problem in all three regions of Nepal – mountains, hills, and plains. Recognizing the rising deterioration of air quality in Nepal, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) partnered with MaHa Sanchar to produce this telefilm to raise awareness as part of a joint ICIMOD-IASS initiative called Sustainable Atmosphere for the Kathmandu Valley (SusKat).
