The office-bearers’ meeting of the Nepali Congress has decided to forward proposals related to the reconstruction bill and the constitution amendment bill simultaneously. The NC-led government had tabled the constitution amendment bill at the Parliament to address the demands of ongoing Tarai agitation and other communities. Similarly, bill related to reconstruction task could not be tabled in the Parliament for lack of consensus. Talking to media persons after the meeting, NC Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that the meeting decided to hold talks with the ruling coalition parties and Madhesi Morcha today itself to take both the tasks ahead. President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice-president Poudel, General Secretaries–Prakashman Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, among others were present in the meeting held at Koirala residence in Maharajgunj.
