Though Prime Minister and Minister had claimed not to increase the load shedding hours, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has published new load shedding schedule. As per the new schedule published on Thursday by the NEA, there will be load shedding for 9 hours hours in a day and 57 hours in a week, which will come into effect from Friday. The Prime Minister and Ministers including the Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi had claimed that the government would not increase the load shedding hours to tackle the energy crisis owing to the border blockade. Though the NEA had not announced formally about the load shedding hours, Nepali people had been facing the problem of lead shedding by 44 hours in a week.
