Only four out of 24 Nepali nationals who were arrested with self-proclaimed religious leader Rampal in India on November 19, 2014 have managed to set themselves free after posting bail amount. The remaining 20 continue to languish in the prison cell at Hisar district in the Indian State of Haryana. Indian police had raided Satlok Ashram run by Rampal and arrested a total of 935 people on November 19, 2014. The Nepali nationals are believed to have been arrested during the raid. The arrested Nepali nationals have been charged with various misdemeanors, while some of the arrestees have been accused of amassing illegal firearms and ammunitions and homicide. About two months ago, a Haryana Court gave its verdict in favour of 17 Nepali nationals after finding them guilty to minor misdemeanors and said they could be released after posting IRs 100,000 in bail. However, the four who were released after posting bail amount of IRs 100,000 each will have to produce themselves before the Haryana Court on May 27.
