The government has so far found 21,518 ropanis of land belonging to the late king Birendra Shah.The lands were found in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchowk, Dhankuta, Kaski, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, and Surkhet. In the last fiscal year alone, the Office of Nepal Trust had discovered 15,273 ropanis of land belonging to the deceased royal family members.The Trust established in 2064BS had found 836 ropanis of land in the year it was established, said Secretary Bhim Prasad Upadhyay at the Trust. According to him, the Trust was sending investigation teams in various ten districts as Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Bara, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur.For the investigation, the team will first enquire the concerned district office of land revenue. The monetary asset of the deceased royal family members amounts – Rs 37 million; 47,000 Pound, and 137,014 US Dollars.
