The Supreme Court today issued the show cause notice against the National Sports Council’s decision of forming the parallel committee of the Cricket Association of Nepal. Reacting to the writ petition filed by the elected committee of CAN, the single bench of chief justice Kalyan Shrestha issued the order and asked the NSC Member Secretary and defendants for discussion within seven days. The elected committee of CAN had on January 12 moved the Supreme Court after NSC formed an ad hoc committee headed by Ramesh Silwal. The NSC has been ignoring the elective general assembly of CAN that elected the 17-member executive committee under Chatur Bahadur Chand on December 14.
