In Tharuhat Andolan Five Police were killed in Kailali District. Scores have been injured after police opened fire during a demonstration in Tikapur in the district on Monday afternoon. Four policemen including SSP Laxman Neupane are said to be critically injured after demonstrators attacked them with stones and spears. The situation took a nasty turn after the irate cadres breached the restricted zone in Tikapur. Additional police force has been sent to the incident site. Tharuwan/Tharuhat United Struggle Committee has been hitting the streets in the west tarai demanding autonomous Tharuhat province including Kanchanpur and Kailai districts in the new federal structure.
