Sherpas have already decided not to climb Mount Everest this season. A Sherpa boycott could seriously disrupt the rest of the climbing season, which is key to the livelihood of thousands of Nepali guides and porters. Everest climbers have long relied on Sherpas for everything from hauling gear to cooking food to high-altitude guiding and putting ropes on tracks. The high altitude avalanche hit just below Mount Everest Camp 2 around 6:30 a.m. Friday, said Nepal Tourism Ministry official Krishna Lamsal. 4 bodies have been recovered and rescuers are digging 2 more out of the snow. A rescue effort of Nepal Army was underway on April 18, 2014, for climbers feared missing on Mount Everest after an avalanche swept the slopes of the mountain. The those who died and went missing have gone early in the moring to fix ropes for climbers along the route to the 8850 Meter.
