A physician by profession, Dr. Sekhar Koirala was born on August 25, 1950 in Biratnagar. He is the son of renowned NC leader Nona Koirala and Keshav Koirala. He is contesting from Morang-7 in the CA Election 2013 representing Nepali Congress. Born to Koirala clan, he began his political career from NC when he was a student. While he was studying at Mahendra Morang Campus, he vehemently criticized the decision to add King Mahendra's name in front of the campus. Being a member of BP Koirala family, he remained active in NC party politics though he never held any position in the party.
