Born on October, 1949 in Sankranti of Terhathum, NC general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula served as a deputy prime minister, a minster for Home, a Minister for Supplies. Sitaula ran for election to parliament for NC from Jhapa district, from where the Communist revolution stated, in 1991 and 1994 without being elected. He was first elected from this district in 1999. He lost from Jhapa-3 in the 2008 CA election with 14,049 votes. Son of Ranga Prasad and Gaura Devi Sitaula , Sitaula played the important role in bringing then CPN-Maoist in the peace process while he was serving as the Minister for Home. A graduate in science and law from Tribhuvan University Sitaula served as a helping hand to then PM Girija Prasad Koirala. He has a son and two daughters.
