Ram Chandra Poudel is a Nepalese politician, belonging to the Nepali Congress. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election he was elected from the Tanahu-2 constituency, winning 18 970 votes. He was elected as the Leader of Parliamentary Party of the Nepali Congress on June 20, 2009 by securing 61 votes against Sher Bahadur Deuba, a former Prime Minister who secured 48 votes.Born in October 1944 in a lower middle class farmer’s family of a remote village of Satiswara of Tanahun district in Western Nepal. Ram Chandra Poudel is Vice President of Nepali Congress. Poudel has said that he is preparing to formally announce his candidacy for the post of party president in the upcoming general convention of the party. “I will run for the president’s post under any circumstances, don’t you hurry I am going to announce my candidacy soon,” said the NC leader, talking to media persons.
