Minister for Energy Radha Gyawali is concerned over power outage in Nepal. she has said that alternative energy promotion is a must to address the current lack of electricity, as Nepal requires Rs 55 billion to mitigate the overall energy crisis dogging the country. “If enough budget is allocated for developing alternative energy, the power-cut problem could be resolved in the next three years.”
She had also directed the bodies concerned not to leave any stone unturned to address the problem of power crisis and give relief to the people. "People have been hit hard due to severe power crisis in the country which should be addressed at the earliest to take the country ahead," she said. "It is unfortunate that we are facing over 12 hours power outage in a day and stressed the need of timely completion of under construction hydro projects.
