An elderly man at Panauti-2 in Kavre committed suicide on Tuesday apparently after his 19-year-old granddaughter accused him of assisting her father to rape her. Police said the 73-year-old man committed suicide after his granddaughter told police that her own grandfather and step-mother helped her father rape her. Police arrested the accused father on Monday after the girl filed a case at the District Police Office charging him of raping her time and again. The accused man has four wives and the victim is the first child from the second wife.
