A woman was assaulted and force-fed human faeces by her relatives on witchcraft allegation at Beni Municipality-7 in Myagdi district of Nepal. The 42-year-old victim said she was publicly shamed by her own sister-in-law and cousin at a local shop. Both the accused, Maiti Thapa and Bishwo KC, have been taken into custody. The victim has told police that she was accused of “casting spell” on Thapa’s son after he was taken ill some time ago. One of the eyewitnesses said the the victim was beaten out on the street. The witness said the onlookers did not know why she was being attacked by her own relatives. Police said they were investigating the case.In another incident witchcraft-related violence, a 69-year-old woman was assaulted by her neighbour at Rampur Municipality-12 in Palpa district.
