An overcrowded bus has plunged off a mountain road in Nepal, killing at least 18 people and injuring 50 more.The bus which was heading from Kalikot district to Kailali district when the accident occurred. Police officials said the bus had the capacity of 36 passengers but it was carrying 68 passengers which may be the one reason for the accident.There were 67 people on the bus, which had 38 seats. In recent months, road accidents in Nepal have significantly increased and the authorities are mulling over measures to minimize the accident. The bus was driving on a narrow mountain road during the night when the accident happened about 400 kilometres (250 miles) west of the capital, Kathmandu.
