Latest: Indonesia called off until Monday the search for an AirAsia plane with 162 passengers and crew that went missing on Sunday.The plane lost contact with air-traffic control Sunday on a morning flight from Surabaya, Indonesia. According to official report the plane was climbing to higher altitude to avoid bad weather.
Breaking News:Transport ministry official Hadi Mustofa told Indonesian media the aircraft, flight number QZ 8501, lost contact with the Jakarta air traffic control tower at 6.17am local time (2317 GMT). AirAsia said in a statement that the plane was an Airbus A320-200 and that search and rescue operations were in progress. Indonesian media say 162 people were on board.
