"Maghe Sankranti" is a famous Nepalese festival which occurred on the first of "Magh" month. According to "Bikram Samwat" Nepali calendar it is in 14th January. In "Maghe Sankranti" Festival, the sun is believed to leave its southernmost position and begin its northward journey. In this day People take ritual baths during this festival, notably at auspicious river locations. Many rivers like Sankhamul on the Bagmati, Gandaki/Narayani river, Devghat and many other rivers. Food like laddoo, ghee and sweet potatoes are popular food in "Maghe Sankranti" Festival.
