Nepali worker gets death sentence in UAE

A lower court in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sentenced hundreds of Nepali migrant worker to death for his involvement in the murder of a Pakistani national.A Nepali housemaid has been sentenced to death after a Saudi Arabia court convicted her of murdering a minor boy. Without sources of income to support and educate her son, she flew to Saudi Arabia with a luggage full of dreams. After being abandoned by her husband for another woman, Shova Pariyar, 32, of Bhimad VDC-5 in Tanahun district was forced to support her son and herself on her own. 26-year-old Shova Pariyar of Tanahun was given death penalty by slitting her throat at 10:30 am yesterday on the charge of stabbing her landlord’s son Osma bin 15 months ago, Nepali Embassy in Riyad confirmed. Pariyar, who had entered Saudi Arabia through the route of India for domestic housemaid, said that she had murdered the boy in fury after repeated tortures and abuses inflicted on her by the landlady.
