At least 34 killed in train accident in India

At least 34 people have died and at least 50 were injured after three coaches of a passenger train derailed in northern India. Other more then 150 injured when a passenger train overshot a signal and rammed into a ‘sand hump’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli district, once again underlining the country’s poor rail safety record.

According to medias One of the derailed coaches was crushed by the impact and most of the casualties were in that coach.Train accidents are common in India. The country’s railroad network is one of the world’s largest and carries more than 23 million passengers a day.
