Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Puspa Kamal Dahal attended same Program

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that Nepali Congress would promulgate a new constitution at any cost as the party had been struggling for the same since long.

Addressing the Ganeshman Singh Sacrifice Campaign here in Bairani today, PM Koirala said the new constitution would be issued even if sacrifices have to be made for it. The Prime Minister said they had announced to promulgate the new constitution on January 22 on the basis of a consensus but that failed as the parties were unable to forge the required consensus. He added that peace, democracy, development and stability were needed for leading the country on the way to prosperity and he was reaching to the people asking peace for the purpose. Indicating to the opposition parties’ protest, PM Koirala said that this was not the time for protest and threatening. Similarly, Minister for Finance Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said that the political revolution has been already completed and it was time for democracy, peace, development and economic revolution. Likewise, Minister for Forest Mahesh Acharya said Ganesh Man Singh was the symbol of equity and to respect the sentiment of the supreme Commander of the People’s Movement I it was necessary to promulgate equitable constitution. He urged the opposition parties not to divert themselves towards violence by quitting the Constituent Assembly but to find solution to the disputed issues in the constitution writing process and move ahead for the national development and prosperity. The NC has been organizing the campaign in memory of the historical day on which late Singh escaped from the Bhadragol Jail in Kathmandu on 2001 BS and also marking the Late Singh’s centennial.rss
