Update: 10 dies after eating chapatti with pesticide traces

Three members of a family died, leaving seven unconscious after eating chapatti with traces of pesticide s at Pida-8 in Tukun, Dhading on Sunday.Six of a family died after eating chapatti (roti) made of a wheat flour with traces of pesticides at Pida-8 in Tukun, Dhading. According to police, four other members of the family were taken unconscious. The deceased are 60-year-old Santa Bahadur Tamang, his daughter-in-law 25-year-old Fulmaya Tamang, 7-year old Sumitra Tamang, two and a half year old Sanu Kanchi Tamang and 5-year-old Ramesh Tamang. One deceased male remains to be identified, police said.

The tragedy hit the family when they ate the chapatti made by grinding the stored wheat seeds.  The identity of the victims of the Syangtang family and further details are yet to be ascertained, said District Police Chief Prakash Malla.
