Former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa passed away in course of treatment in India on Wednesday, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Deputy Spokesperson Kiran Giri said. RPP Deputy Spokesperson Karan Giri said that the octogenarian leader breathed his last at around 11 pm Wednesday night.

Thapa, who had flown to the Indian capital for treatment, had undergone a successful gastrectomy surgery at the hospital on Friday. His health condition was said to be normal and improving after the surgery.He was 88 year old.
